As a certified personal trainer my first step is to get to know you and your individual needs. Our first session is all about discovery and assessment of what you can do at the beginning of our journey. I use the skills that I have perfected over several years to create a personalized fitness plan that is comfortable, incorporates your goals and helps you become and stay fit.
My clients continue to work with me because I make the process easy and enjoyable. They stay with me because they are very pleased with the results. Our rapport is excellent because I care about each person and know how to make our sessions fun as well as successful. I motivate with gentle encouragement.
Even though I am qualified to work with all ages my specialty is middle to older adults and seniors because there is such a need to stay active as one matures. I have an extensive knowledge of the practices, exercises and movements that are needed in this group in order to improve overall wellness, fitness, energy, flexibility, strength, balance, posture and nutrition.
As a creative trainer I use isometrics and stretch bands to enhance tone and strength. I mix these alternative methods with the traditional use of weights depending on what works best for each person. I have extensive knowledge in the safety and use of all fitness equipment.
As a student athlete in college I played basketball and ran track. I have never given up my love for sports and exercise. I decided to become a personal trainer at an older age than most in order to use my skills and resources to help my clients keep fit by learning what I have always practiced.
My prior professional experience was as a social worker where I helped at-risk youth become independent. Later I turned my attention to adults and seniors as a fitness and activities instructor. I am also an avid golfer.
